One-Line Bio

I'm a Canadian TESOL teacher and student of Budo Taijutsu working in Tokyo.

Biography

Basic Black has many layers of meaning for me - it's the title of Arthur Black's CBC radio show that aired for many years on Saturday mornings. It was a favorite in our family.

In 1999, I first came to Japan as a participant in the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program, and lived in Ehime Prefecture for a year. This sojourn, I came in the spring of 2003 to live in the Tokyo area.

Why here? I'm an ESL teacher by profession, and a budoka by obsession, so living, working and training in Tokyo is a good fit.
